BEAVER - A Beaver woman this morning was charged with 10 counts of animal cruelty, accused by borough police of allowing her dog to starve to death inside a metal cage.
Nicole E. Spatig, 22, of 369 Beaver St. Apartment 3D, was freed on $1,000 unsecured bond by District Judge Tim Finn following her arraignment this morning.
Beaver police said that Spatig apparently didn’t feed her German shepherd, Mya, for weeks before it was found dead in a cage by her landlord last week.
Four cats were also found in the apartment, police said, and they didn’t have food or water. They were taken by a Humane Society of Beaver County animal officer.
